The evolution of LED lighting has transformed the way we design and control illumination in residential and commercial spaces. However, ensuring optimal performance requires an understanding of LED technology, control options, and compatibility challenges. This course will cover best practices for LED dimming and control, common issues like flicker and drop-out, and how to meet customer expectations with proper system design. Additionally, participants will explore how LED drivers impact lighting performance and how to specify compatible components for reliable operation.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the features and benefits of LEDs as a general illumination source and the best-suited applications.
- Explain the key components of an LED system and how compatibility ensures efficient, effective, and reliable operation.
- Compare existing control types and standards, identifying differences between power line, 3-wire, and low-voltage controls.
- Recognize LED drivers as a critical component of LED lighting systems and their impact on performance.
