Great Eastern Energy, New York

Project Overview
A 1980s commercial lobby gets transformed into a luxurious entry with a custom waterfall, a round reception desk, and signage that tells a story and conveys the mission of the company. Natural materials create a warm atmosphere, and hidden controls create a modern experience for both employees and visitors.

Objective
The client wanted to create a different kind of first impression with a space that feels luxurious and modern while also being a more accurate reflection of the company’s ideals.

Unique Element
A custom waterfall draws the eye and brings natural elements indoors. Handcrafted faux boulders surround the space to provide a consistent element around the entire perimeter. Large field tiles (24” x 48”) were installed and hand-shaped to form the circular design that perfectly follows the radius of the desk.

Custom Creations
A feature wall that shares mission-driven stories and the history of the company is illuminated with custom sconces. The round reception desk features custom millwork, making it appear to float above the tile floor below. Custom LED lighting behind the curved concrete tiles of the features wall complements the floating effect of the circular desk.

In The Details
The sleek curves of the desk are accentuated by the flooring transitions that radiate away from the desk in perfect circles. A hidden panel allows the receptionist to control the lights and security features, making it a convenient and stylish main hub for the building.
