45th Street, Brooklyn
Project Overview
Brownstone apartment kitchen gut-renovation
Objective
Completely renovate the garden-level apartment late-1800s kitchen to create a bright, modernized space with added backyard access
Partnerships
Unique Element
A custom floating island was appropriately sized and created in the kitchen’s center to allow adequate room to comfortably navigate the space
Custom Creations
The wooden table was templated, fabricated and installed following the kitchen installation to assure a perfect fit
In The Details
Given the apartment’s very poor condition, the entire kitchen’s walls were gutted, reframed and the plaster walls were restored. In order to keep the original moldings throughout the rest of the space in the newly renovated kitchen, they were duplicated and re-milled exactly. All lighting, plumbing, and subfloors were also removed and completely updated to accommodate the new, modern kitchen.
